James L. Hartwell,   Acxiom Corporation

James joined Acxiom in June of 2004 and works as the lead for the R.L. Polk account in Southfield, Michigan.  Prior to Acxiom, James held the position of Director of Technical Services for Covisint LLC where he was responsible for the daily operations of the Covisint hosted and internal global IT environments. 

James has seventeen years of experience in information systems technology.  His IT career began at the U.S. Army Computer Science School where he instructed systems administration.  He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1997 with a B.B.A, majoring in Computer Information Systems. He was the president of IPMountain Incorporated in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  IPMountain specialized in the design, evaluation, procurement and build-out of distributed virtual data centers.

James is a retired Chief Warrant Officer from the Michigan Army National Guard.  James served in the U.S. Army for more than 22 years in the Electronic Technology and Information Systems Fields.  James’ last duty assignment was with the Michigan Army National Guard’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT).
