Adam Shostack   CTO, Informed Security

Adam is a consultant in security risk management and security economics.  His background in patch management includes founding nmotion and Informed Security to build patching decision support tools and patch management consulting.  At Zero-Knowledge Systems Adam built and ran the Evil Genius group of advanced technology experts building prototypes and doing research into future privacy technologies including privacy enhancing networks, credentials, and electronic cash. He is now working in the ZKLabs group building prototypes and acting as an internal
consultant.  He was general chair and organizer of the 2nd Workshop on
Privacy Enhancing Technologies held in San Francisco in April, 2002.  Adam has published papers on security, privacy, economics, copyrights, and trust.  He joined Zero-Knowledge Systems from Netect Inc., a mass-market security software company acquired by BindView Development where he served as Director of Technology.  As leader of the core design team for Hackershield, he introduced numerous innovations in security scanning, as well as helping to manage development of the company's first products. Prior to Netect he provided security-consulting services to clients including Fidelity Investments and Counterpane Systems.  Mr. Shostack sits on the Technical Advisory Board of Counterpane Internet Security, Inc. and the Advisory Board of the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures initiative. www.emergentchaos.com
